FramFramson and Lowtardog have already made most of the the points I would like to make, highlighting the absurdity of the decision to limit content on the board to pre-1989 with vague references to systemic threats to the future of LAF, when the Nazism is not used as an excuse for a similarly hugely disproportionate blanket ban for all things World War 2 and LAF seems to manage it just fine.
Other than that, as a member who has contributed funds to the upkeep of LAF and who frequents the forum largely for it's post-cold war content, modest as it may have been, I'd like to register that I feel more than a little robbed. The decision seems to have been made with no attempt at consultation with the many contributors (financial an otherwise) and seems to me undemocratic. I for one wish I hadn't made a modest contribution to the upkeep of a forum who's owners choose to manage it in such an way.
