Thanks Slayer, very kind I hope you get enjoyment out of the period and have fun building your Greek army

Also here is a WIP for the Triarii - so far really enjoying the Victrix Kit and mixing with Aventine has worked so far, also have a few select foundry miniatures on their way to play with.

The Unit is done and I'm looking to the next unit of Triarii, depending on that goes might keep going with the Romans into April but trying not to get ahead of myself.  I am also messing around with a black vs grey background here and interested in thoughts on what's better.

Wips for the next unit probably by the close of next week.

Cheers
JP

Another fabulous entry! You're really going strong into Antiquity by the looks of it. :)

Regarding backdrops: A dark or multicoloured one creates a more 'dramatic' atmosphere with lots of contrast, whereas a white or plain background is great for a clean and 'sober' presentation. I like both approaches, so cheat a bit by using a slightly structured gradient.

They look excellent.  I hadn't thought of combining Victrix and Aventine models in the same unit, despite having both in my collection.  I might well try it out.

As for the background, I like the dark gray better, if that is any use.

Amazing painting! Your choice of colours is spot on I'd say. What colours did you use for the spear shafts?

A very fine body of men.   Great work on the painting and I did like the built in dice holder.   Was thinking along these lines to cut down battlefield clutter so thanks for the inspiration.
