Unboxing Reaper's CAV Kickstarter.
« on: December 05, 2014, 03:55:57 AM »
Got a small box full of white vinyl mecha and hex bases today. Here's a short video showing what I got. They're actually pretty cool!

Thanks Roe, first review I have seen! Its hard to judge from the video, are the arm plugs modular at all or are they different sizes?

Thanks for posting the video. I didn't get in on the kickstarter, but now I'm very interested in getting some of these models.

They seem to be pretty close depending on each mech's size. Mediums fit other mediums etc. But there doesn't seem to be any particular standard template. Here's another video explaining just that thing!

Eh pity they did not standardize it, seems to me like that would not have been that hard a thing to do. But like you point out its not that hard to cut and paste these things, or maybe even go with magnets...

Thanks for making a separate video, don't tell me it was just my question that sparked it.  ;D

Good video.  I'm not overly drawn in by CAV stuff, but I love mecha.  I do see this entire range though as a huge resource for very cheap mechs which you could kit-bash all day long.  To me that's a huge draw.

I can see a lot of 6mm sci-fi gamers bashing stuff together to fit certain armies etc.  I like the quasi-modular assembly.  Even if they don't plug in you can at least chop and glue.
