Will people ever stop finding good uses for Pulp Alley?  :o

Very much looking forwards to how this turns out, and with a city build from terra-blocks this is sure to be good looking!

Surely Dredd should be a Terror?  ;D

On Friday we had a first trial game of Pulp Alley - Judge Dredd - Multi-Player carnage as a practice for putting on Pulp Alley convention participation games with players who may never have played Pulp Alley before.
It worked very well.. We had three players Pete, Ben & Mark who had not even heard of Pulp Alley (the two youngest had not heard of Judge Dredd either, but they soon got the idea). They played the Perps who were engaged in a block war / food riot / general affray. Lewis and I were the Law and deployed the first Justice Department League the first turn after gunfire and the back up JD league the following turn.

More to follow...

I am also trialing a new area of Pulp Alley hobby page, were I intend to place all of the character cards that we have used for our Pulp Alley games as small images that can be clicked on to download a full sized card. For now we have Judge Dredd and the 3 Leaders of the Mega City One gangs.

Ma Might

Freddie the Flayer

Big Daddy McTavish

Let me know if you think this is a worthwhile exercise.

Always interested in hearing more! As it stands those cards are rather hard to read for me. (and I imagine most of the older forum members as well then.  ;D)

Indeed, they are sort of 'Thumbnails', the full size cards can be downloaded from the card directory we are starting to build up on our hobby pages.

I was looking for some feedback on my post, to see if this was a good idea.
Perhaps its better to just post the full size images here?
Just did not want to clog the forum up with two many big image files...
Anyway, please let me know what you think.
This is the full size card for 'Ma Might' to be going on with!

Great idea, using it for JD. Thanks for sharing the cards. I can feel myself being steadily pulled into the Pulp Alley Vortex...  :)

I will get a Judge Dredd Terror card made and posted... Great idea.
For now, here's the full size cards for the other two gang leaders, both nasty bits of work, but maybe not quite as scary as 'Ma Might'

Those Street Violence figures are perfect for that "future via the 1980s" Dredd look.  Necromunda figures like the Goliath also fit in perfectly.  The terrain is really perfect for representing the Big Meg too, great stuff.  With those figures and that terrain you guys are going to have a great time playing some Dredd games, brilliant.

I used some Judges in a couple of PA games just before Xmas.  It is ideal for Dredd games I reckon.  The Plot Point mechanics are a fun way way to represent a condensed procedural cop drama plot, futuristic or otherwise.

I dont speak for management or anything, but using the image tags as you have here certainly suits me :)  I will be keeping an eye out for any of the cards that you make available here, thanks!

One of the (many) things that I enjoy about PA is that there are multiple, equally legitimate ways to represent characters in different games and contexts.  There is definitely justification for Dredd (and Judge Death for example) to take to the field as a Terror, but equally as Leaders.  I tend to view it a little like when different writers deal with characters in different media, the take is often slightly unique. Its all about the sort of story that I want the game to tell for me.

A game featuring two gangs fighting a turf war when Terror Dredd shows up would feel very authentically like the comic or like the Karl Urban 2012 Dredd movie I reckon.

I think, and this is personal taste without actually having played PA all that thoroughly yet, that I would be careful with playing Dread as a terror. The scenario Cheetor describes above would be perfect, two gangs going head to head for plot points and Terror Dread taking them both down. However a single gang going against a terror always feels less interesting to me, so in those cases I would field the judges as a group. Just an opinion tough!
