Had our second game two days ago. This time we had a larger table, bigger armies and added Objectives, Officer traits, and Side Plots.

The Cossack Cavalry was devastating, so the game was over in around an hours time. Still a fun game though.

More details and pictures on my blog: http://1812-retreatfrommoscow.blogspot.dk/2015/03/second-game-of-1812-retreat-from-moscow.html

Your games are very interesting. Makes me want to run out and buy figures, and I don't even play Napoleonics. Well, not yet anyway. ::)

Great pics. The darkness gives it a "gathering evening" sort of feel to the game.

Enjoying following the blog.

Need some advice  :)

I want to expand the Russian forces, giving them more options, but I'm unsure of how much of the Russian army were regular troops, how much was militia etc.

So with an army of Cossack Cavalry, Cossack Infantry, Jaegers and Peasants, should I look to getting some regular troops or militia troops?

Jaegers and Hussars would work. But really mainly Cossacks and Opolchenie and peasants.

i'm planning too a Moscow Project but in a lower skirmish level (too Project in production at the moment)

but now, you need to find a lots of project featuring winter (snowy) operations.... lol

great idea to create a blog for a solid/long term topic   8)

I am glad your blog was not lost, only moved.
Excellent looking terrain.
Looking at it makes me feel cold.
Look forward to see what you do next.
