Hi all,

what follows is a review of the new Black Powder supplement from Warlord Games, Blood on the Nile and also a discussion about Fred Burnaby as I ordered from Perry Miniatures and received a lovely free Fred Burnaby model:

It is a beautiful book.  We picked ours up from Warlord with a different miniature version of Fred.  Looking forward to running that as our Zulu campaign winds down.  Need to paint a few units of Egyptians first though.

I got the Warlord Burnaby but I have to say, I think I prefer the Perry one!

Same, I pre-ordered the warlord one and the mini is great but the Perry one seems more flexible, you could use him in any dark africa/safari scenario.

I like both miniatures, though the Perry version of Burnaby was my preference, thus who I ordered the book from.

Just got this (thought I better had check it out - I like to read such books when in the water-closet, even if I'm never going to actually play the games).

Nice to see LAF's very own Sudan demi-god Frank's work gracing the pages and pages of eye-candy.

Yeah, you can tell his work- really subtle yet very dark skin tones  :-* :-* :-*. I remember the pics from the T&T Colonial Section. Darker skintones are something I'm going to have to have a go at, once, that is, I've got the first 'unit' done!! Only four more bases to go!!:
