Has anybody residing in Blighty a hardback copy of this book they'd like to sell?

"Wot did you do in the war Grandad?"

"I was with Harry... At The Bridge!"

I'm afraid not! I'm hanging onto my copy as it's not just a wonderful read, it's superbly illustrated and written by a man, Colonel Mike Snook, who is who is certainly the premier expert his field.

If I were you I'd pop over to the Perry website immediately and buy a copy straight away if the print run hasn't run out(?). I don't think it has as it was still available when I last looked.

Darrell.

Excellent, you really won't be disappointed.... it really is a fantastic read and is great for OOB's and beautiful illustrations by Michael Perry as well as  lavishly illustrated throughout with various other artists....

In short, it's a must have for the Sudan.

And don't miss his 'Beyond the Reach of Empire' that focuses in incredible detail on the Gordon Relief Expedition.

That's one I haven't read yet, just finished Like Wolves to the Fold and will now of course have to order, How Can Men Die Better as the books are intertwined! Not so much as they can't be read as standout books on their own. I just prefer a continued narrative even if I've read them in the wrong order  o_o lol.

Incidentally, both the above books concentrate on Isandlwana and Rorkes Drift respectively and not the Sudan.
