Castle for my GoT/medieval army
« on: February 17, 2015, 09:06:04 AM »
Here are some pictures of my castle terrain , still a work in progress. The castle itself is by tabletopwargames ( I think they are defunct, at least you can`t reach them on the web)
The terrain tiles are build to fit my existing collection of tiles.

Have started with filler pictures will follow

Yes, looking good Tom.

It seems strange that this company that had been promoting their products so aggressively, has suddenly vanished from the radar without a trace. I wonder if they overreached themselves on the finances front in order to bring this castle kit into production, and fell over?

Pity, because while I didn't like their first couple of buildings (too square and regular looking) the modular castle does look pretty good, and I was seriously considering buying one as the basis for my own long-deferred castle project.
But it looks like it may no longer be an option, and you may now be the proud owner of a rare collector's item  ;)

They are Tabletopworkshop these days but only the Facebook site is operational (and nothing since Jan 15) with the website being a 404. Forgot to renew their domain name?  :)
Cheers,

Nothing since 5 Jan as far as I can see? They look decidedly dead in the water to me, but hopefully they will reappear at some point.

maybe someone else gets the molds and starts selling again . I think they did the engineering part themselves as it says so on the parts. They are definitely not from Renadra!
The castle is quite nice and I wanted to keep it modular to be able to build different designs. So I didn`t glue the parts.
Now as you can`t get any more models from them I might just glue it into two big parts.

More pictures to come

Here is a little update.
I finished with the filler and carved stones and pavement into the blue foam .
I will start painting the terrain pieces today . Expect more pictures then.

The last picture shows the basecoat with gesso the following step will be airbrushing the rocks.

Pity about the company, 'cos I liked the look of that castle too.

Anyways, all your modelling looks excellent! Looks like it'll turn out great.

I saw them at Battleground in November and they were talking about how they were just about to make a big push on the castle. I saw NorthStar were selling their buildings off at half price too though,  which may not be a good sign. I hope they're still about as it's a lovely product.

Really impressive work.  I'll be watching eagerly to see the completion of this one.

Your use of the brush for reeds reminds me that I've got a cheap shoeshine brush somewhere that I intended to use for the same purpose.  Better go looking...
