So I was reading "A Rabble in Arms" by Kyle Zelner and I was struck by the hobby bug. So what I'm looking for is any information, photos of miniatures you all have done, anything on weapons, battle paintings/photos, uniformology (kind of a general clothing/ buffcoat type topic since most militia wore their own clothes) of the North American militia's in the mid to late 1600's. I mean what could be cooler than a regiment of Virginian or New England pike and shotte with their Indian allies facing off against a Spanish/French/Dutch/Royalist enemy rabble. And yes the colonist's did use pikes, the Massachusetts Bay colony didn't discard theirs until 1676 when they realized its hard to chase Native Americans through the woods with an 18 ft spear....
