That said, I took delivery today of some Frostgrave Undead I think you'll love.

Don't treat us like mushrooms, spill the beans, I really need to see what you'll have to offer on that front!!!  ;)

I shall have to expand my undead collection, as I am running dry on old classic Warhammer plastic skellies for my GoB army!!

One question, pardon me for not paying proper attention - is the 'early bird' all up to June 15th, or has it passed?
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

A little flurry of Frostgrave news.  First up, a blurry shot of the special 'Armour Rack' from the Nickstarter:

A shot of two models assembled from the plastic test sprues:

I am realy looking forward to be positively surprised.

Hope the story from Matt Ward will not be about Mage-Knight in shining armor hurled to Abyss by chaotic spell where he meets grim reaper, demigod of the past and where he carved  mages name Draghal Kharo to demigods skin...

Well... stop on the prejudice...Mrs Austen is right.
I am realy realy looking forward to get my hands on it!

I used PayPal - if you have it you can send Nick order and ask for PayPal request.

Is the lich available to but or is it exclusive to level 5? It's one of the better lich figures out there and would be my first choice of extra purchases.

the rules are pretty simple, so yes- sort of. There are no rules for race or living status. But if you feel your wizard is already death you can play it that way

If you mean 'can I use undead models for my warband?', then... sure - go for it. I'd use the Necromancer school, and work from there. This goes for dwarves, elves, orcs, fishmen, anthropomorphic mice, and anything else you can imagine - the stats will be the same for a zombie Thug as for a human Thug (or a dwarf/elf/orc/fishman/anthropomorphic mouse Thug), and the choice of models is all down to your warband's back-story. Provided your opponents can identify what each model represents, it shouldn't be a problem at all.

If you mean 'are there specific rules for playing an all-undead warband?', then... no - not in the core rulebook, but keep your eyes peeled for the Thaw of the Lich Lord supplement in November...

Mostly true (at present) for players' warbands, but there are undead and monsters that roam the city as neutral threats (i.e. they'll attack everyone!).

Being undead is important where certain spells are concerned (so I wouldn't recommend giving the 'Undead' trait to a model in an undead-themed warband!) and if one of the optional rules is used. Same thing goes for some of the other traits ('Animal', 'Demon', 'Construct' etc.).

  • Warband Theme/Flavour/Back-story - anything goes!
  • Warband Rules - nothing specific (yet) for undeath, or races.

EDIT because I completely forgot!

Some Wizards will have spells that can bring a limited number of monsters into their warband (e.g. the Necromancer can raise a zombie; the Enchanter can build a construct), or take control of random monsters during a game (e.g. the Summoner can bind a demon). So you do get to control weird creatures to a degree!

But the question was about wizard ;-)

I have another simple question: will there be any point-builder (like for example for Ronin) to build your own monsters henchmens, wizards??

I think of the Dark Fable-Miniatures Undead Egyptians. They look nice. Or the Khemri. I have some old heads, etc. in plastic...

I'm going to go ahead and assume none of the magic-user types is particularly associated or disassociated with any specific colour, so prospective explorers to the frozen city can paint their wizards any way they like.

Another question: What, more precisely, is the nature of the city's ruination? Was it simply abandoned and left to crumble over the ages, or was there some cataclysmic event as with Mordheim? Were there devastating fires? Magic storms? Raiders or iconoclasts wreaking deliberate havoc? Have the folk living nearby (if there are any) been robbing the ruins of stones for their own construction projects? I'm asking because it might affect my terrain-making decisions if I do get into this game.
