In the SCW, it was the leftist Italians in the International brigades who stayed on the field and chased off Mussolini's less enthusiastic troops. Maybe communism was a cause more worth dying for.

well, mussolinis troups were partly just drafted, the leftist were all there by own will. that might be all the reason for the difference.

Indeed.  Maybe Mussolini should have asked for true motivated volunteers to send to Spain, instead fo trying to impress with the size of the less willing Italian force.

On the topic of Italians, is Anglian producing Italian troops for SCW?

Warrenbruhn also forgot to mention that it was the Austrians who eventually threw in the towel on the Isonzo front, not the Italians.
