Nice. :) I like to see in-progress pix, it's nice to see how people do their basing.

Thanks Anna  :).

It's on to the painting on the bases today- watch this space  :).

Great miniatures and great characterful bases. Like mini dioramas. I base all mine on single bases but I'm thinking grouping them on bases would give me the opportunity to try to add a bit of this type of character.thanks for the inspiration

Thanks,

I reckon that using a vignette style of basing really adds to an army. I've been doing it for years.

A picture speaks a thousand words  :)

What are you using for the base filler Darrell?

It's just Pollyfiller mate but obviously anything like that would do. I used to use Milliput but found that the water needed to smooth out the larger bases I used to use (Impetus size) would sometimes warp slightly.

Hope that helps?

I was using polyfilla but I found some wood putty with a good range of decent colours that dry pretty strong (the old one I was using tended to fade as it dried) and it fixes to the mdf impetus bases really well.

Their coming together marvellously Darell, great job with these chaps. Giving me plenty of inspiration and ideas

Can you remember what the wood filler was called? If so, I might try an experimental base

Thanks, I've got some actual sculpting to do in the form of two short sleeved gambesons, which I'm wary of as the sculpting on the plastics is finer than that of the metals.

More soon :)

No probs Darren, dont know if you will get it in the UK but I suspect there will be something similar. I'll smear out a bit and take a photo of it.

I've started on a few more Saxons cutting off arms and repositioning, working from a wire armature,
it is going to take a few tries but I'm enjoying it all the same.
