Just gone through every page, enduring the cruel, lingering wait for snotlings to appear. Well done that man!

Many thanks. I'll be honest, the Snotlings almost killed my enthusiasm!  lol

Oo, this thread's gone onto another page. Quick, a proper update is required!

I've just finished a colour test on one of the doors. Actually quite happy with this. It's a mobile phone pic so some of the subtle mossy colours and washes aren't showing up. Will sort out some better pics when they're all finished.

When I was younger I painted ten of these, doing them in various colours for different types of stone, marble, etc. To be honest it all got a bit garish, and I spent ages trying to match the right rooms to the right doors. Decided to save myself the hassle this time and go neutral.

This is a test piece, so I used various techniques. Maybe a bit too much blood? I'll go easy on the others.

When I was a lad I'd probably have painted the skulls as skulls just as I did when the y were part of a Space Marine's power armour. Not recommended.

This was always a long-running joke with my friends and I, when we'd grown up a bit and looked at our old minis. Teeny-tiny skulls, or gigantic skulls, or flat face-plate skulls, all painted like actual skulls...  lol  (In our defence, the Eavy Metal painters of the day often did the same).

Perhaps one (just one) BOSS DOOR painted differently?

You've done a very good job painting these old castings. Adds tons of flavour.

On The 12th day of Quest-mas my hobby gave to me…

12 Spiders spinning

11 Goblins sneaking

10 Rats death-leaping

9 Snotlings fleeing

8 Bats a-flapping

7 Stabby Skaven

6 Orc Boyz chopping

5 Muu-uu-mmiees!

4 Adventurers

3 Minotaurs

2 Dungeon Doors

And a fi-nished War-hammer Queeesst Set!

Years in the making, and I honestly couldn’t have done it without your encouragement. Merry Christmas folks.

(And it doesn’t stop there, the expansions and monster tables will keep me busy for some time yet. Watch this space…)

Great work! Sometimes it's good to have some light entertainment, and that Warhammer Quest box looks like just the thing.

Plus your 12 days of Warhammer-ness song is wonderful!

Warhammer Quest is far more than some light entertainment.  lol  While the game mechanics themselves are a bit "meh", the depth of the game (obviously you're a bit limited by the minis in the box at first) is tremendous.  Loads of potential, character building, skills, abilities, treasure, etc.

Yep. The core rules are perhaps too wedded to Warhammer for their own good, and yet I don't think it's been bettered yet. Descent probably comes closest, but it's too fussy by half. The WHQ roleplay book is just bags of fun.

Many thanks, and totally agree. Mind you, my 2018 goal now is to paint everything from the old Undead expansion (or their modern equivalents), at least two more heroes, and hopefully finish all the monster tables up to level 3 at least!
