Your brushwork is simply out of this world! Excellent updates.

Thank you! I'm really enjoying this foray into the world of greenskins, that's for sure. I have a bunch of Black Orcs and Squig Hoppers on my painting table next.

Such great work! I love the old Lair of the Orc Lord Shaman (Skabnoze, was it?)- and wow, you made it look like his knees have a bunch of dry skin and dirt on them- amazing! He should really get one of his underlings to whip up some green-skin cream or something. Love it!
I have a YouTube and so can you!

And we're back! With even more BOING!  o_o

As much as I wanted to paint up the older metal Squig Hoppers for this project, I got hold of a frame of the new ones from GW and gave them a quick test fit... I was hooked. These minis are really great. They go together like a dream, and are super-fun to paint. The only problem is, I painted up 4 for a game, and only afterwards realised I needed 6 (or D6, because y'know, Warhammer Quest). Extra single frames are on their way from ebay, but for now, here's the first batch!

Details:

My painting table is swarming with minis at the moment, including a whole load of black orcs, so hopefully the next update won't be too far away. I've also broken my foot, so that gives me an excuse to sit still and paint!  lol

Great work.  I like that one looks excited, while the other looks scared.  lol

They are very nice.
I just wish they still had the old Kev Adams head. I wonder if there is a place to purchase Kev Adams gobbo heads separately for conversion parts... time to google I think.

Ah, what a shame. Gotta paint more gobbos.  lol

They look lovely, great work on those lads.

Great work.  I like that one looks excited, while the other looks scared.  lol

That's because one is da boss. He's learned to embrace his inner squig (and his outer one).

Yikes! Good job I've finished those Black Orcs!  lol

Another bunch of classic metal models that were a PITA to paint, making a mockery of my rules of engagement (only paint models that I love). The story here is that, years ago when I actually started this project, I put out a call to a bunch of hobby buddies to help me fill out the gaps in the Warhammer Quest monster tables. I got some very generous donations, including a bunch of metal black orcs. Now, said friend had heavily 'battle damaged' these models with a dremel, probably way beyond my usual taste, making them actually quite tricky to paint due to their sharp edges and so on - hence why it's taken me so long to get round to them. However, not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I added them to the handful that I already owned, and finally painted them up.

Not my best work, not the most fun, but 2D6 Black Orcs are ready to join the Orc Lord's lair...

And a few details of the iconography. Went for a battle-damaged look, pretty simple but helps break up all that armour.

I agree, they look excellent! I wouldn’t have noticed any damage from the Dremel treatment if you hadn’t mentioned it - your paint work or maybe pre-painting cleanup, makes the figures look like they were designed to look just the way they are.

Last update from the current batch. Every mob of black orcs needs a Boss to keep 'em in line.

This mini was much nicer to paint than the rank-and-file orcs. He's actually one of my own that I converted up for a Warhammer army in days of yore, but never actually painted. A fairly quick paint job to match the other black orcs, but added a few extra stages of shading and highlights as befits his status.
