This colour scheme definitely works better than the Gold and Blue of the studie-miniatures. I'm not 100% sure on the tone of the base, but I really like the turqoise armour. And the gold detail looks great!

How was your shield arm? The one I had a play with (someone else bought it) didn't line up at all. The locator piece on the body wasn't there to match with the one on the arm and the shield prevents it from sitting flush on the flat arm. The resulting join point is tiny.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Hi Dewbakuk,

The arm sits really close to the body, it took me a while to get it into position but it is snugly in. It is tricky to paint behind it though!

Maybe yours is better... I'll take a photo

Hopefully, as you can see, the shield arm is shaped with a curve join and has a locator recess, while the corresponding point is perfectly flat.

The one my son got looks the same as yours Dewbakuk. I trimmed it a bit and it seems to be holding up fine.

Not actually mine, it got left behind at my house so I can't do anything with it  ::)

I could certainly trim it to fit but this is a model being given away to showcase the new range...

The lip sits above the arm the shield is very close to the body!

You're probably right Stevo, but that just then leaves a different design issue in the step of the armour plate.

That looks great, the white mask really makes it work and takes a bit of the space marine-ness out of it.

Thank you lawful evil, I thought a green face wouldn't work and it drew the attention to the focal point of the model!

Beautiful paintjob and the white mask, as Lawful Evil says, is a touch of genius that makes it "click".

GW should pay you to paint their stuff. Way better than the studio job: it's much easier to see what's going on with the miniature.
