The Great Wargaming Survey 2015
« on: July 07, 2015, 01:17:44 PM »
Hi all!
Last year we ran a very successful and reasonably comprehensive survey among tabletop wargamers (all published results). To upgrade the survey from a snapshot to something that might start to indicate trends, we have to run it with some regularity. Hence, the Great Wargaming Survey 2015 (#GWS15). I'd really appreciate it if you took the time to take part. Even better if you help spread the news! As last year, there are some great prizes to be won, and everyone gets a 10% discount coupon upon completion of the survey.

Many thanks!

Filled out the survey (again :D ).

Jasper; one recommendation: at the very end, you might want to add a 3rd option to the question 'Would you like to subscribe to Wargames, Sodiers and Strategy': 'Already subscribed'... ;)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Done

one suggestion - how about a question asking people how involved they are with boardgames. There is a substantial cross over with figures but the many hours I spend doing that is not represented in the survey.

And another suggestion, there wasn't any section about blogs which are an ever increasing part of the net side of the hobby  :)

(duly filled in also).

Thanks for the suggestions guys! They're for next year I guess. We're planning to keep doing it and though the basic questions will remain the same, some other (groups of) questions will rotate in and out. Blogs could (and should) be among those, as should boardgames/crossovers.

On my iPad, for question number 16, which I presume is supposed to create a ranking from 1-4, I am unable to change the numbers at all: no matter what I change it's always 123 in order from top to bottom.

I suggest you add "game store" to question number 20, or is that what you mean by "club?"

Axabrax, have you tried dragging the items? I think that works on the iPad (I'll try myself tonight). And excellent catch, added 'local game store'.

Hmmm, as last year, the first few hundred respondents seem to be guinea pigs too...  ;)

I did suggest blogs etc when asked to offer advice - I suspect the survey was already becoming too cumbersome with their inclusion..

Thanks for the kind words guys and yes, Eric the Shed did suggest paying more attention to blogs. Next year! :)

Blofeld: so far (nearly 700 responses in - good start!), the under 21s are 1.3%.
