Wow this has changed !
Although I live in Fontenay Aux Roses - you can see part of its territory on SgtPerrry's map - I don't know of any ancient map of it.
So I will produce a map of Merville, the place where I spent the first part of my life.

The precise location is on the north west of Merville, in the triangle delimited by two roads and a (small) river. This is not the same as the Normandy WW2 Merville. The map was made during the reign of Louis XIV who actually conquered this area of the Flanders.
This is north of Bethune, whose bourreau executed Milady in a famous novel !
Dumas wrote a novel called
a day in Fontenay-Aux-Roses, a decameron-like collection of horror short stories. I love Dumas. And by the way : in
the Mohicans of Paris, a huge
great novel, the heroes wander around Chatillon and Fontenay.[/b]
