Building the frost grave warriors
« on: August 11, 2015, 02:11:28 AM »
Well, I must admit, I do like the frostgrave mini's.  Especially the plastics.  They are fun to assemble, and you can mix and match from other sets.  Head and weapon swaps, equipment and gear, it is all just wonderful to work on.  Can really experiment with colors and shading as the surfaces are flat and not uber detailed.  Have about 10 more left to paint.  Painted ones are below.  Nice job to the designers and mold makers.

Very nice! :)  Are they made purely from parts from the boxset? The bronzed armor swordsman in the background especially caught my eye.

I love the arrow sticking out his shield.  Nice touch!

I love the kit and can't wait for the next one that is supposedly being released in November or so.

I believe the photo includes metal Frostgrave models and parts and bodies from other plastic medieval / dark age miniatures.

Very nice warband(s) there.

I'd like to echo the query about the bronze-armoured chap at the back. I recognize the body and the sword arm, but not the head or the mail coif - Gripping Beast Arab heavy cavalry? Fireforge Mongol cavalry?

It's very Hyborian in any case - I like!

A great looking set of figures.

I've only got as far as assembling the first 10 or so.

The heads you are looking for are Saxon heads from the West Wind Arthurian range.  :)

The way that a head-swap can change the feeling of a whole miniature is fantastic.  ;)

Regards.
