Not very effective. The concept was revolutionary, but the army didn't have the money or interest in investing in them, leaving only very few, less than 10 I think, operational for the war. The were part of the artillery and did see some action, though sources on their use are few.

@Dewbakuk: I'd assume the same as you, that this is a 6-pounder. Though info on what cannon was used is very sparse. I haven't been able to find any source listing it as other than 'a cannon'.

Well I've tried to sell the rocket launcher idea to Nick, not sure he's totally convinced but he seemed to like it ;)

He did wonder if the 12lb cannon for the Prussians would be usable by the Danes as the appearance is similar? Would mean a much faster artillery release if so as the crew have been done. I can honestly say I don't know...
So many projects..... so little time.......

I would rather wait and have it right on the 12 pdr,i think the appearances of the barrel ,seats and trail are all different, the Danish gun has cleaner lines ,especially the barrel. I can keep busy painting his infantry while waiting for guns. Just my thoughts.

Is that a 12lb gun though? The only pic with a name lists that as 24lb.

We'll need cavalry too.....and while I'm quite happy to muck about with a gun of one species or another as a substitute it might be difficult to get cavalry of any sort.  I seem to recall a sort of low raupenhelm type affair used by Danish dragoons.

Dewbakuk....what did you see ? Was there a full range?

I think (going from memory) there were 8 infantry, so two packs, some sword waving officer types so I'd assume a command pack and a couple of artillery crews. Didn't see any cavalry and I know from previous conversations that the sculptor has some Prussian cavalry that have been on his desk for some time so I wouldn't expect any in the short term. Unless he gets suddenly enthused over it. We can but hope!

good question on the artillery, but I think the 24pdr is a little squattier. Also I am sure you can use the northstatr Austrian dragoons for danes ,that's what I did just painted over the Austrian eagles and put the Danish star,I also used for saxon reiter.yeah still not sure about gun,the only thing is the danes did have seats on both sides of barrel, couldn't tell if Prussian 12 did,and no handles on top of barrel.

Prussian 12 doesn't have seats, only the 4's and 6's did.
