People, lets look at the positive side. 8)
There is always something interesting in these films/tv series to watch.
Either lovelly females (for the guys) and lovelly males (for the girls) and some crazy ideas for all the modellers and painters. :D

Not to mention the fact that you get to run the back passages of Londinium with Charlie...

Excalibur still trumps everything else. Bloody brilliant (mostly).

I absolutely agree. It was done with a creativity that is sorely lacking in most pseudo-historical movies today. Lots of blood and guts too which is always a bonus!

Apparently, the plot of the second film will involve the Ultra baddie, "le hatchet"  and his bulldog henchman, "le baptiste"  hiring two totally inept scallies to retrieve excalibre. They then sell it on and when asked by "Le Baptiste" where it is say"what, the old scimitar!?"

"If you don't want to be counting the fingers you haven't got, I suggest you get that sword. Quick!!!"

Then There´s a Dance Routine with the jseter playing the Music with King Arthur and "Le Hatchet" singing togehter,  Jude law Dresses up in a rabbit costume before being excecuted.
I knew the truck didn´t want to hit me...it had dodge written on the front

Just looking at the pics of those costumes I feel encouraged to avoid this film.

Arthur running about Londinium with his 'crew?' A 'shadowy' Guinevere, no doubt another ninja babe leaving a trail of bodies in her wake, despite them being twice her size and wearing that completely useless movie/tv armour.

Like a previous poster said about Troy, stick to the bleedin' story which has been tried and tested for hundreds of years. No, I can't see anymore after the first.

Why do they pay an historical adviser or whatever the title is in these kinds of movies as they obviously do not listen.

History doesn't sell movies... The (average) movie-going public seem to want Ninja Guineveres, CGI epic battles with implausible weaponry and tactics and elongated pointless chase scenes. Correct costumery and paying any attention to the 'story' be damned! ...Sigh... :?

Oh yes... Well it hasn't got a bad cast: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Kingdom_(TV_series)

Only just got around to reading the series...if the fighting´s half as bloodthirsty in the film Version as in the books..could be good.
A short Clip but it makes me want to watch ..if only to see the full shieldwall...(10 seconds) even though it does look like they´ve used repeated sections with a clever burning twig to hide the gap,  to create a longer wall.. The White shield with a cross (which appears 3 times along the line)...all the shields around each White one are exactly the same

Very true..and with some film going public it seems thier knowledge of accuracy is very skewed..they will know exactly how a Tolkien Hobbit or Marvel Avenger should look like but  genuine History related stuff seems irrelevant.
Imagine the hoo ha if a Cap´n America film was made..and they portrayed him with a square shield!!!

I hear* the origin of the TMNTurtles in the Michael Bay movie was changed from aliens back to mutated terrapins because pop-culture nerds made a hoo ha.

Mind you, palaeo nerds (including some professional ones) kicked up a right internet stink about the unrealistic moviey munstirs in Jurassic World, and that didn't make much difference. Probably because the pop-culture nerds kicking up a stink about the former movie were part of the target audience for both.

And for this one, too.

Not that I think that excuses it.

It just feels like Robin Hoodie all over again. :(

* What, you expect me to have watched it?
