6th Bn, Royal Tank Corps, 1936....28mm
« on: 22 August 2015, 05:17:05 AM »
Gents,

Here are a few shots of something a little different. These Vickers Mark II Medium tanks depict the 6th Battalion Royal Tank Corps forces stationed in Egypt in 1933-38. The unusual interwar camo scheme of desert sand and red oxide makes for a different looking British desert tank. Vehicles are Copplestone Castings 28mm interwar British Vickers Medium MK II tanks.

In this case these two tanks are seen here redeployed to British Somaliland as part of the British expeditionary force sent in response to rising tensions with Italy during the Abyssinian Crisis.

Now I want a Raspberry Ripple ice cream.

Very nice and an interestingly unusual choice.
Back from the dead, almost.

Great job with those tanks. Are they going to be fighting some Italians in the near future?

Lovely camo scheme.

I may well use that on some RT Space Marines.

Thanks chaps,

It is quite unique for sure.....marks them out for one period only really...which is fine as they were in their 'prime' in the thirties.

Italians yes, but more likely French Renault FTs and Char D1s

 ;)
