Can you "save" a level?
« on: September 23, 2015, 01:41:50 AM »
Ok, so a wizard gains 3 levels after a game.  Can you save on "skill up" for after a future game?  For example, could you add +1 to a spell, then add +1 to the spell the next game (leaving aside that you should get at least 1 level per game)?

I cant really see the point? then you have game 1 at -1 , game 2 at -1 , then game 3 at -3.
why not have game 2 at -2... or am I missing the reasoning behind the save?

It is about the maximum deduction of the casting roll by one per spell/per game.

So basically "saving" levels for the next games to have some kind of "guaranteed" upgrade there.

I personally would say no since this system is very good for keeping balance, even when you level up like crazy during one battle. But that's me.

Nope. If you've got the xps, you've got to use them.

Cool, that's what I thought (and would have ruled), but wanted to check.

In the (extremely!) unlikely event you can't use a level (very high level character, get extremely lucky in a multi-player game) what happens?  For example, a starting wizard can only use 12 levels (assuming no Grimoire, which my wizard still hasn't found after 4 games! lol).

Not one? :o
I hope you've made a heap of gold. I'd splash out and buy a couple.

Nope, I keep rolling things like "Magic item, 20gps" - I think after 4 games I've gained about 400gps, which mostly went on replacing the 4 soldiers I lost in game 1!
