Drop us an email Harry and we'll chase it for you.
All the Nickstarters are out there in the hands of the postman.
The time between the Nickstarters being ready and the release date by Osprey was three days. There was always going to be a cross over of supply. The big thing we can't control is the books because they come from Osprey not us. We have held back selling the figures before the Nickstarters left to avoid winding people up, I'd have loved to have the Cultists for sale at Warfare in Reading last weekend but we couldn't do that.
My point is always, Nickstarters are not about you getting your stuff before your mate. They are about you supporting us by pre-ordering product and we making that worth your while by giving you free stuff and discounts. To avoid Thaw of the Lich Lord arriving in shops at the beginning of November I bought the whole print run. I tried to buy the whole second print run too, but couldn't, the result being some geezer gets his copy a few days ago and you get wound up Harry.
Something we did this time differently was staggering the shipping of Nickstarters. In the past the whole thing went in one day. This time, because the Spell Card decks were delayed, we started shipping those orders that didn't need cards first, with the rest following quickly after. I knew it would lead to comments of 'my mates got his where's mine' but it was a choice we made.
It's always our intention to do the very best we can for you guys, spare a thought for the North Star chaps who work hard on your behalf with this story.
We have 1000 parcels filling up the office and warehouse. They just need the spell card decks. A truck arrives. Hurrah. Casters drop their ladles, office staff drop their keyboards, it's all hands on deck to get the Nickstarters out that day. Exciting. Pallet is forklifted off, we sign the docket for the driver. Nick says 'How big are these spelldecks?' looking at the giant pallet. Dean rips open the wrapping, cuts open a box to find it's full of computer parts. Where's the Spell Decks? The delivery driver looks baffled, there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth amongst the faithful North Star workers.
Needless to say, the card decks were found and delivered later on, but just another hassle in the background of getting these big projects out the door.
