Plastic Cultists and the Nickstarter
« on: 28 September 2015, 05:48:36 PM »
The Cultists look good but I already have a lot of other general henchmen types to paint up so I am not sure if I need them, although I don't really have any bad guys. I don't know what level to go in at as I am not sure about the need for the Cultists.

Are the Cultists just the "evil" equivalent of the first box or are they some sort of separate NPC faction in the Lich Lord?

From what I've read you'll need models that can represent cultists in the service of the lich Lord for the new supplement. As a bonus you can make some evil looking henchmen to serve darker minded wizards. As another bonus there are zombie and skeleton arms and heads in the cultists box for making some into undead. So lots of uses for the cultists. Go for it. Not to mention only level 3 and above get the freebies if the spend goals are reached

From what I've read, I believe that the cultists can be some of the "NPC" bad guys of the Lich Lord, although they can be used for the basic "Soldiers" of evil wizards.  In addition, they have bits to make them as skeletons, zombies, etc.

They seem to be like the Soldier kit but can perform double duty as henchmen or encounters.

You are right about the Cultists.

Firstly they can be used for Death Cultists, who appear in various scenarios in Thaw of the Lich Lord as servants of said Lord.

Secondly Death Cultists can appear as wandering monsters.

Thirdly, they should make up your warband if you choose Lichdom, making your self Undead. (this is in the book)

Fourthly, You can use them as alternative Soldiers if you're evil, like Mark Wheatleys Necromancer (boo).

Fifthly, whatever.

North Star hasn't even got any samples yet, all the pictures are of 84mm high resin models. I'm itching to get them and have a play around, I keep reading early Nemesis the Warlock for inspiration. Be Pure, Be Vigilant, Behave.

If we ever only bought the miniatures we needed ,half the companies would go bust  lol
Least their easy to store in the box,and probably sensibly priced.
And the rules will be available to use them with.

Be Pure, Be Vigilant, Behave.

That seals it then, they will all sport the symbol of Termight!

Can't wait to get my hands on these.  What are the best options for Frostgrave plastics in the US?  Really have a hard time finding them here.

Brigade Games US carries a lot of the North Star line, especially Frostgrave. I can't wait to do some kitbashing with the cultist and soldier plastics.

They look ace.

Anyone know whether these (and the Frostgrave soldiers) convert well with fireforge foot sergeants?

Not sure about the sergeants, but the Fireforge templars work pretty well. Exactly the same scale. The only issue is that the necks are incompatible so head swaps require a little work.
