Dang!  I think my Dreamforge Eisenkern just found a sweet new ride!  A stowage rack and some cammo netting and it's a sci-fi Kubelwagen.

And no not the Spaceballs one!

Too small or OK for Imperial Assault figures?

I picked one up today and now wish I had gotten a couple more as it seems to scale up very well indeed..
I may even get a chance to have a go at pimping it up this week with a bit of luck.
 ;D ;D

So....Thanks, JollyBob for pointing it out.

Gonna get me a couple at the weekend hopefully  :D

I think one of them will be a covered (solid hull) version and another will have a canopy.

cheers

James

Thanks for the scale comparison pic Dewbakuk!!!!!

I'd say its a 'big' car.. it looks like it scales with 1:43 diecast cars rather than 1:56 if thats your thing, and its a 3 seater speeder.
That said, I agree with Paul and James that a canopy and more detrius will make it look pretty good. :)

Cheers
Matt

With all the comments about what people are planning to change on them, I am definitely having thought around a "brown water navy" look for them.

Think Star Wars does Apocalypse Now....

Picked up two of these this morning in the Disney store in Glasgow :D Was sorely tempted to buy at least one more, but managed to resist.

@Agis - I assume you asked, but they weren't on the main display wall when I looked. They were shoved in a floor level stand, and if I hadn't been looking for them I wouldn't have known they were there.

The amount of stuff being brought out for the new film is quite staggering. It's annoying that the scales are all over the place with most of it. I saw a couple of micromachines kits - one where a snowspeeder was about half the size of the AT-AT and another where the TIE fighter was about a quarter the size of the millenium falcon.

Most inconsiderate. What we need are some gamers designing these things ;D

Looks fantastic, thanks DBK. Should be in a Disney Store myself, tomorrow. I hope they've got them in.

Canopy sounds like a good idea, but I don't know if I'd trust my scratchbuilding abilities. And after reading a new book about Operation Loyton, I'm hankering to build up some futuristic special forces with 'hover-jeeps'.

Looked, searched and asked.
Best answer: "ahh that one, we thought nobody will these anyway..."

No worries. See I'm not thinking of it as a 'car' at all, I see it as an attack/knife boat. As such the size is about right for a 4 man crew: two in the seats, the gunner and there is room for another in the space between, I'd go for a down on one knee figure acting as a spotter/rifleman. If you took the gun out you'd gain a fair bit of space up front and then it could be a 6 man transport, no problem.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Got two of 'em. We hardly need another scale shot, but here y'go. A couple of Heresy troopers, and the squad support weapon that I might try bodging on in place of the bendy plastic gun.

It's not the only thing I might replace. The seats, rails, and steering column/driver's console/turny thingy are all bendy plastic, and either slightly deformed, not very well cast, or shoved in a bit haphazardly. Don't suppose I can blame the poor Chinese workers for not taking their time, but I think I'll refix some of those, and find a lump of rod or wire to replace the rails.

It is a nice looking, reassuringly solid piece of metal, tho. :)

Can you not order through the website? The U.K. Site sells them and the shipping is only the cost of bus fare anyway...

As I dont intend to use them for their original purpose I am considering ripping out all the bendy stuff anyway and working from there.
That sturdy die cast frame works well on its own with plenty of scope for conversion.
 ;)
