Burning barrels V2.0 + bed-linen & outhouse *update 28/12/15*
« on: 15 December 2015, 08:57:30 AM »
acquired a set of Elladan's burning barrels at Crisis and painted 'em following his tutorial :http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=29965.0
Satisfied with the barrels, but not too happy with the smoke plumes (shape as well as the hassle to get them on top of the barrels without glueing them on)

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons,
for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

The barrels are very cool. Good job on the Flames, but the Barrels could get some more depth in the paintjob. The two smoke plumes on the right side looks ok for me, but i would ajust a bit on th etwo on the left side. Looks a bit too much imo.

Yeah,

as said, they're not fixed to the barrels as I want the option of with or without smoke.
the second one is actually smaller than the 2 on the right. The big ball comes from the first barrel. I aimed for a smoke barrier that doesn't rise but quickly decend to ground level.
The barrels could indeed do with some sooth at the top and some darker patches here and there.

What about some additional black staining to the top of the barrel? It might help split the flames from the actual barrel? They're still great!

The idea of a smoke barrier is great. Blocks LOS but still easy to move through. Great work.

Went back to the barrels to touch 'em up with Modelmates rust effect & Lifecolor soot. They look much better now, even if the photos don't really show it (yeah, I kinda suck at photography)

Furthermore I managed to slap paint on these pieces :

Ainsty Office Furniture (managed to paint the bottom instead of the top of some pieces *facepalm* so I'll need to touch these up, too)

Also started on the Bachmann Hobo Jungle. First 2 sheds are finished. Scribed some planking on the inner walls and made floors out of styrene sheet :
*EDIT* : less photos since Photobucket changed their policy

Great work! The barrels are much better now. The furniture looks a bit flat imo, maybe a second time with a wash would bring in a bit more depth, or you photos suck who knows  :D

Finished the third shed from plasticville's Hobo Jungle set.
Scribed a wood planking pattern inthe baseplate.
also managed to break the top pin of the door. Note to self : mount doors before assembling the building  ::)
