Slann Solo
« on: 22 December 2015, 09:42:37 PM »

Malebolgia got in touch with me when he heard that Broken Toad was making a limited edition "Toad in Carbonite" available last week, for a single week only.  Malebolgia wasnt certain if I would be into a space frog encased in carbonite or not, but happily, he was 100% correct: I definitely was.

The model arrived yesterday and I painted most of it yesterday evening and finished it off tonight.  It was simple to paint and a lot of fun.  It will make an entertaining Maguffin in some upcoming games.

The blog post about the model is HERE.

Thanks for looking!

That is brilliant! Superb work on the painting too. The carbonate and the controls look awesome. I'm sure it'll be used plenty. Even if you just hide it in the corner of a game to see if people notice. But no longer available?  >:(

This.

I'd have loved one of those seeing how effectively you've done it.

Oops, seems like it was better to do a post in the Future Wars forum instead of a PM ;)

But awesome job Cheetor! Love it and it really fits your lineup very well. I think it adds toads...eh...loads of fun!

Nice painting.

All those miniatures are great, in fact. Are they mostly old Citadel?

Thanks for the feedback everyone.  I figured that this model would be a crowd pleaser due to the concept.

Thats certainly what Malebolgia thought, I would never have known about it only for him :)

Apparently Broken Toad are making the model available as a convention exclusive from now on, so maybe some of you might be able to pick one up when visiting one of those.

Yeah, mostly.  The guy in the greenish khaki in front is Rico Dredd from the Mongoose Publishing/Warlord Games Judge Dredd range.  He and some of his colleagues can be seen in this LAF thread.  The green clad astropath in the rear is a Citadel figure from the early 2000s.  The others - the Inquisitor, the Space Eunuch and the Official - are 1980s Citadel.  Those figures are in my Sci-fi Non-Combatants thread or my Inquisitors thread if you are interested.

Im glad that you like them.

Oh, hell, the title alone was worth the look, well rewarded.

Thanks!
