Next up are some skirmishing jägers - foundry miniatures with the odd head-swap to bring in some shakos.

More detail on my blog - as usual: http://jannersjaunt.blogspot.dk/2016/02/skirmishing-jagers.html

The first of my brigade commanders:

In early 1812, Pavel Alekseyevich Tuchkov had command of a brigade in 3 Infantry Division within his brother, Nikolay’s III Infantry corps. Known in most sources as Tuchkov III, in the face of the French invasion, he commanded 1st Western Army’s rearguard as it withdrew to Smolensk and was dispatched to hold the critical road junction at Valutina Gora (Lubino). He was captured late in the day whilst leading a counter attack by the Ekaterinoslav Grenadier Regiment, having received a bayonet wound to the abdomen and a number of sword cuts to the head.

Lots more on Tuchkov III here, as well as extra photos: http://jannersjaunt.blogspot.dk/2016/02/tuchkov-iii.html

Very nice work.

What frontage are you using for your Foundry Russian infantry ? I've found that 15mm per figure is a bit tight on the base, and yours look more like 20mm, by the look of the spacing between the miniatures.

Many thanks  :)

These do have a frontage of 15mm, but the bases are 45mm deep.

So you are using 30 x 45 mm bases for the grenadier and tirailleur platoons, and 60 x 45 mm ones for the three musketeer companies ?

The frontage looks a bit wider in the photos but appearances can sometimes be deceptive  :)

Sorry, they are actually 50mm deep, but yes, 30mm wide for the flank companies and 60mm for the rest.

And lovely they are, Stephen!  :-* 8) :o

My own hussar figures are sat looking accusingly at me now, waiting for guns on the workbench to be finished.  >:(
