Just read the Captain rules (will get to the Scenarios later). It's well done! I have been afraid of disbalancing the game from the point of "If my opponent has one and I don't, how screwed I am?". Because my main wizard is not gonna share the lead with lowly soldier. And it's perfect. The captain can be pretty strong but it will cost you lots of money. And I mean a lot. Deffinatelly going to try him out with one of my warbands.

The only thing I'm not sure about is that as his level goes up, the number of tricks is going to be... let's say hard to keep in mind.

Hi,

Is there a reason the price went from £2.99 to £3.62 during the day?

I checked this morning when i came into the office & now the price has increased 21%.  :o

Where are you seeing this? It's still £2.99 on the Osprey site.

Wonder how many have been sold today? I and my mate purchased first thing.
The new rules are just the right balance by the look of it - not too powerful, not just combat and requiring a little thought. My favourite wrinkle is the Smashed Jaw outcome not allowing group moves - well done Joe

Love it, and did anyone think due to the keeping item rules the capt has that a mule is a good option now :-)

Not sure if you know, but you can add PDF's to iBooks. I bought it as a PDF and added it to ibooks on my ipad. If Amazon ever lists it, I might get it on Kindle as well.

I bought mine at 4am this morning when I came back from the pub. (Was a little worried I'd pre-ordered the hard copy at first as I couldn't find the download, but having sobered up today I've found it ... and it's Great.)

The Captain can be created in a variety of ways to suit your style of play, and you have to think carefully about when and where you use his abilities. He adds another dimension and more flavour to the game and doesn't unbalance it.

For me the 'best' thing about him is that you have to pay him each turn (from your treasure) to stay in your Warband, and the better he gets, the more he costs. So while he will advance like a Wizard, it's effectively at the expense of the Wizard. So your opponent might have a super duper Captain, but less gold available to purchase increases for his Wizard.

Some nice Scenarios in the PDF too. All in all a very well thought out addition. Good work all.

= )

Did you get a PDF or Osprey's ebook? Osprey recommends for their eBooks, Bluefire Reader. For PDF I'd look at Adobe Reader.

Timeshadow. I opened it on my Galaxy S5 using Polaris Office 5 and using Quickoffice. Maybe try redownloading, maybe it got corrupted.
