Thank you DeafNala and verd.  Im glad that you like the process so far and thanks for the encouragement :)

This project started as a Frostgrave force, but as is often the case with these things, it has expanded beyond the original project remit.  So I had the mods move the project to the Fantasy Adventures board.

At the top end of the current scope for the project are the requirements for some Dragon Rampant games, hence the dragon etc.

Of course adding a TMNT sounds like an April Fool, but it really isnt.  Its still fantasy I promise.

I have at least three more heroes in a half shell to add here, but the project remains categorically fantasy all the same.  Check out the blog post if you desire or require clarification, or if you just want to see more photos.

More to come soon.  Thanks for looking!

I refuse to believe that giant humanoid shinobi terrapins belong in the realm of fantasy.

 lol ;)

Really nice work on that. The green skin has real depths, ditto the purple cloth on everyone.

Terrifying Medieval Ninja Kappa just doesnt have the star quality that the original title had ;)

This project was in some respects a deliberate effort to up my game with regards to painting purple.  Its working out I think.

Thanks Andy!

Mikey appears a little smaller than the others due to the crouch, the others are about "human" sized compared with the other models.  Twentysomething Mutant Ninja Turtles perhaps.

I have another set from another manufacturer that are much daintier, much more what I imagine the modern day TMNT should look like.  But these figures slot into this project beautifully I think.

Thanks Blackstone, plenty more to come!

I am loathe to encourage competition in gathering up the remaining models that I am after, however, you wont regret getting a few I reckon Mason.  The preslotta are nice, but the slightly later models are probably my favourite Aly Morrisson sculpts of all.  The faces are just amazingly full of character.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you 6mm fan :)

The latest addition is a pair of magic users for the force, Mizuki and Ryuhime.  They are primarily intended for use as a Sorceress and Apprentice of the Illusionist school in Frostgrave.

They take some inspiration from the Mzuki character in the not great, but more enjoyable than I expected 47 Ronin film from 2013.

In the movie the Mizuki character can transform into a dragon.
I was given a Clan Wars miniature of a human/demon hybrid by a friend and I decided that painting that particular sculpt to suggest that she is changing into the dragon would be fun, so I did that.
It meant that I had to paint the dragon first in order to work out how it would make "sense" if you know what I mean.

The leftmost model in the first image is a "Bride of Fu Leng" from the "Clan Wars" miniature range.  Its still in production from www.veltd.net . The figure on the right in the first image is from www.hfminis.co.uk.

The blog post is HERE.

The image below is everything in the project so far.

Thanks for looking.  More pseudo feudal Japanese figures to come :)

This is freakin' awesome.  I love your mix of manufacturers given a unifying color scheme.  Is that freehand flowering on the dresses?

If yes, are you f*%$ing kidding me?

Thanks for the kind feedback lads :)

The wizard is morphing into a dragon or similar, the right side of the model is turning purple and scaly, her foot, her face and her hand are visibly turning into another form.  It's explained better in the blog post.

I just read through this thread and have top admit that I am in awe!
Your painting skills are exquisit and the collection of figures you show here is really excellently chosen. Very much setting the mod of an oriental film.

I'd like to see more, maybe another side for a game of frostgrave or Ronin?

Cheers

Super thread, great idea and beautiful painting.
Especially like the newest additions!!
I have been looking at some of those Clan Wars minis for a while now but have been able to stop myself starting anything new (even after watching that 47 Ronin Version which i loved) but i am now weakening.
