Aged plastic (warning: green orcs inside)
« on: January 24, 2016, 12:59:03 PM »
Here is some progress I've made with my "vintage orcs" warband project. A project I'm working on very slowly, only when I feel in the mood. I know there's little love for green skinned orcs on these boards. Bear with me... ^^;

Orcs, from various boxes/games. Common traits: being old and plastics.

A group of Goblins. The 4th edition ones are godawful dull and uninspiring, but I wanted some just for nostalgia...

Group shot of the warband up to now. I've also branched out to some other manufacturer's model. You can see a Reaper Bones Hobgoblin among them.

And now, a preview of what's next :)

Really love them.
4th edition was the first time managed to paint...well ok  lol
Had undead dwarfs and empire and always wanted to have some greenskins... :D
But 5th edition cured me from gw
Nowadays with so much oldhammer love also thinking about going back and paint some orcs
and they will be as green as possible lol

Fantastic work! If I find my old orcs would you want them? Free! Just pay me the S/H! I want to see them in a good home where they are loved. Course it might be a year before I ever find them lol!

.. ohhh I love this vintage figures, because I'm also a little vintage ...  lol

Do you know?: In the new and great ruleset DRAGON RAMPANT you gain an additional 2 Glory "points" at the end of a game if your Warband comprises entirely of fantasy models manufactured pre-1984 ...  :D

I love green orcs and I cannot lie
All them other colours pass me by
When an orc walks in with a bright red face
Put it back in its place

I actually found a bunch. I'll dig them out and I'll figure out how much it will cost to send them to you. Prolly no more than 5, but I want to make sure you get a lot....

Whilst I have a large army of "historically correct"  :) orcs and goblins painted as per Tolkien. The truth is paint them in a way you are happy with.  I have seen orcs and goblins painted a variety of colours  blue red green and brown.  All looked fine on the table.
