What I especially remember of that game is that the move-engine seemed very well thought out and quite realistic. What I could do and where I would be after the turn was what I expected, according to my actions during flight.
Also, where the others would likely be according to their actions. Stall, accelerating, overheating engine, choking the prop, etc.
So, as close as one can be while tabletopping, I somewhat felt the wind in my hair.

I also like is this special lucky-shot rule (do not quite remember the name of it), when someone tries to hit you. If he roles a 1 (on a d20?) the target gets a bullit through his scarf and so is a VERY lucky pilot, hence the target (!) gets a lucky point or something. Very useful in campaigns, I recall.
