And the best thing is, the chinese ideograms, if the University of Munich online dictionary and my brush skills don´t let me down in a horrible, but ultimately hilarious way, read "yuánzǐdàn", which is Chinese for... Atomic Bomb! Take this, Ministry of Unimaginatively Named Items!

I just got Fallout 3 for the PC last week - what an awesome game!! I've already started making some wasteland terrain myself  :D  I've been taking screen-shots of all kinds of interesting terrain as I travel through the game. I just need to get some minis to match. The old Warzone guys look are an almost perfect fit for power armor (I used to have a small Capitol force - I must have sold them...).

There's some great inspiration in this thread. Someone really needs to make a series of Fallout 3 minis!!

Has anyone seen the image maps for the in-game billboards? I want to print them out in order to make a miniature billboard.

Anyone know of good figs to use for Super Mutants?

Greg

Hmmm, hearing all you folks, I just may have to give in to Fallout 3 too...

Yup - although it´s not the "brand name" Kinder stuff, but some cheap variant (which I bought at a gas station because they had Wall-E figures inside, hoping for a robot and getting a fat crewman). Was a lucky shot, because this variant of the plastic takes paint much better than the Kinder capsules. The fins are 1mm plasticard (thickness for stability).
Nice. The "official" Kinder capsules are crap these days anyway, single part castings, with some sort of tear-away strip connecting the two halves...  Not barely as usefull as they used to be. I guess my son will be getting some treats come next shopping trip...  ;)

You definitely should get Fallout 3

Plusses:

Great game
Lots of ideas for a Post-Apoc game

Minuses:

You'll spend ages playing it, when you could be painting minis....

Ain't that the truth.

If anyone sees a 28mm figure of a young African-American girl with a shaved head and wearing a pink nightie and Abraham Lincoln's hat, while toting a rather tatty-looking hunting rifle do tell me: That's what I need to represent my own Vault 101 Dweller on the tabletop.  :)

Plynkes, I know pictures of that girl!
Ever since I have read Your post, I have been asking myself if she has appeared in a comic drawn by Dave Gibbons(?) I cannot remember the title or the story, though.
I know that I liked it very much! But for the love of you know who I cannot remember the title of that comic. Do You?

Vikotnik: I have no idea, mate. I didn't get her from a comic, I just made a black girl character with short hair in the game. The clothes are things I found along the way in the Wasteland.

Also, sometimes she wears power armour (experimental medical armour with its own AI that talks to you), and sometimes a Vault 101 Jumpsuit. Other times she wear a nice pink dress and wide-brimmed hat she got from Tenpenny Tower. (I like video games that let you play dress-up!  :))

I think it is coincidence. I don't remember any such character. But it is entirely possible that the look is based on something I read and then forgot about. I'm afraid I don't know.

GregX999, I beleive that the walls are Armorcast ruined brick wall sections, with what is most likely "sprue brick" rubble added. Gotta love a guy who not only builds the terrain, but a table to use it on. ;)
