Great looking game. Lovely to see a sodding great grassy hill. That says England to me  :)

I haven't tried Dux Brit. But I am building forces for the period... How would you sum it up?

I know the OP hasn't responded but I would like to respond as I think quite highly of this rules set.

I would sum it up as having basic mechanics easy to learn and play quickly, but has enough additional elements - pre-game choices, Fate Cards and a highly manageable campaign system, to provide interesting choices and tons of period "colour".
With goodwill to all and malice towards none...

I'll second DG's comments. Like all Lardy rules it focuses on leaders leading men. The actual tabletop rules are quite straightforward and easy to pick up, but the background and campaign rules are what makes them shine.

It's all quite immersive truth told and if you have time to read through it, Mike Whittaker has been running a long-term campaign with Andy Hawes, which will give you a taste of what it's all about; http://troubleatthemill.blogspot.com.es/

The campaigns rules for them are by no means onerous at all and you can just use them to link your games together to provide some context.

It's a great set of rules, I believe Mike Whittaker is releasing a 'dux Brittaniarum compendium' through too fat lardies soon, with extra scenarios and battle rules

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will invest in a copy (always late to the party, me  :))

Just tell me it doesn't have a 'tiffin' card, right?

No tiffin card, you just play the cards through then shuffle them

I'm sorry but we don't do Tiffin here in the states. If there was such a card it was probably removed when it came through customs.   lol

Extremely addictive! We've been playing a multi-player campaign for over 2 years now playing almost weekly. All the AARs are on our forum but I'm not sure you have to register to get access.
The initial rules needed some tweaks but most of these are addressed in the follow up Raiders book. And any question you might have is almost answered immediately on the TFL forum.

Panic, Chaos and Disorder. My job here is done
