Wiz looks good - if you do get these cast up, be sure to let us all know.

Converting 6mm!! Bonkers! But looking good.  I'm kind of surprised their aren't some Italian wars figures that would work though.

Thanks for the vote of confidence fred! I've painted Irregular 6mm Renaissance/Italian Wars before and although suitable I find them a little bit lumpy. I know it's just me being fussy but they just aren't quite right.

I've primed the converted crossbowmen, but I have finished my proxy Empire Pikemen and here they are in all they jazzy glory.

For Warmaster:

And on the movement tray for Dragon Rampant:

Microworld are due to release a ton of Renaissance Fantasy miniatures in September-ish, I think. But after being stung by customs for an alarming sum I'm getting a bit put off by ordering from the US, big shame really since they look awesome.

I have to say though, the Baccus medieval ranges are great and seem to take conversions pretty well. Lots more ideas in this area to distract me from other projects it seems!

P.S. Currently converting some Late Medieval mounted men-at-arms to look a bit more warhammery.

Thanks for looking!

Cracking stuff!!  :-*

I love small scale massed battles for the look and impression it makes when you see vast armies duking it out over a large stretch of land!

Thanks folks.

Here is a picture of some nearly finished guards for the Wizard. I've put them with a strip of Araby figures so you get a bit of an idea of their size, they're taking a while but 'slow and steady' eh?

Anyhow, I think the spearman would make quite good City Watch types for my long term Merchant Princes vision. I hope you all approve.

Thanks for looking.

Hello all. Still here, just lots going on combined with getting rather angry with..... well...... I'm sure it's probably obvious.

In other news. I've managed to find some meditation time at the painting table, not nearly as much as I'd like but there's been some priming, some starting painting and some scenery making. More sculpting done, but sorry, no pictures.

I've been eagerly getting into some of my Warmonger Miniatures Landsknechts who I'm painting up as Marienburg - I love the Venice-like City State swagger it oozes - and I think there could be plenty of employment opportunities for exotic mercenary companies. Here they are in their raw state:

Also some scenery on my blog, just some rocky bits and a ruin based on CDs, also unpainted.

Not only that, if anyone is curious there is a video of Portishead's amazing interpretation of ABBA's SOS so feel free to swing by and have a listen.

Thanks for looking.

Little update with a photo of the now painted pikemen. They still need varnishing and basing, but are well on their way to getting done!

The Banner has a key on it (symbolic of something I'm sure) and the blob is a twin tailed comet to make it look a bit more warhammery.

Cheers folks.

Once again my impatience with rank and file painting takes it's toll and my wandering eye chances on something different. This time some 15mm Khurasan Miniatures Thuloid Cultists. First man-thing done (base needs tidying, but hey):

A bit different from the clean and crisp look of recent projects, but this guy is supposed to be axe fodder for some solo play Dungeon crawling fun. The intention was to give the impression he's be serving some evil genius in a dank underground lair, and hasn't been out much.

Also, I've just discovered 'How to Host a Dungeon' and it looks amazing. exactly what I need to create a convincing dungeon with a bit of history to it. There's more wordy stuff on my blog if anyone's interested.

Thanks for looking.

Brain back in proper hobby mode........ a bit more sculpting done, here's a group shot including some dollies who are drying at the moment. Really must make a lightbulb putty oven.

I've got a bit of a plan in terms of getting a variety of spearmen sculpted and some command figures and getting them cast up if I can find a caster and if there's any demand!

Thanks for looking!

More sculpting getting done, here's some works in progress:

Also, the mysterious and monstrous nomad tribes of the deep deserts are being employed by the merchant princes. Here's an idea of their size compared to a human, think along the lines of some kind of half-troll thing.
