Brilliant! I didn't imagine the Viking Hirdmen and Saxon Thegns could be used for kitbashing with these.

Gives a lot more possibilities for this somewhat 'monopose' set!

I guess, the un-armoured Dark Age Warriors arms could be used with the un-armourd bodies, too - and vice versa - and all of a sudden it became much more probable that I will get a set of these!

I'm glad that someone else has noticed the lack of variety in the archer's poses, if anyone's thought of good conversion/remodelling techniques I'd be keen to see your ideas, I might try some cutting and repositioning on the arms.

I was actually considering removing the quivers and reassign them to the front rank. There are some spare shields which is handy.
I also will have a look at the Fireforge plastic medieval archers and see what parts could be used..

Beards are just painted on..'twas the fashion

Plus it conceals the Mick Jagger lips somewhat..

for Ghis I would use greek oplite instead, for the late romans I was thinking of using them as Volantene troops (in combination withfuture Byzantine miniatures from fireforge).

Very nice brush work but...

I've painted plenty of GB's other plastics which I quite like but I have to say that I'm still not sold on this set. I really dislike the leg bindings which look too precise and I think the poses look a bit rigid.

Just to clarify the situation as regards planned GB plastic sets, according to a reply to a query I received from Andy, the company has no plans to release dedicated Germanic infantry; that niche is considered already filled by the existing sets. There will be a generic light cavalry box, then sets of specific heavy cavalry types, such as Roman and Vandals/Goths.
