Excellent smooth work. Great contrasting colours without jarring too.

I recall having issues with the sculpt of the mount, and it still looks off-balanced, but you breathed a lot of life into it.

"A pretty good match although a few areas are somewhat improved."

Amen! A very noticeable 'somewhat improved.'  ;)

I favored the Koralon, but just for other genre uses; this is spot on.

"the only 'big shoulder pad' models from that time that still work for me"

Fair's fair, they 1) aren't that big, and 2) these don't cover the joint between arm and body the way the big uglies did.

Still, more pleasing to the sensibilities, one hundred percent.

Doug

I've noticed that the thing I don't like about your painting is that is not on any/all of MY minis.   ::) ;)

Beautiful, as usual from you!

I don't mind them although I'm sure the tail would need to be longer to balance things out if it were real.

The main problem with the saurians, at least the early castings was the amount of weight and strain put on their ankles. I remember painting the heavy gauss rifle one for Urban Mammoth and it got sent back after some weeks for repair as the model had nose dived over time. The one I've done for myself had pins put into the ankle and back of the knee to try and avoid something similar happening. I still ended up wedging a rock under the raised foot though just in case. When I rebase it it'll get a pin in that foot I think. It could also do with reigns adding but I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull that off.

Thanks for the comments everyone.  :)

Yeah, the metal was too soft for the saurians, mine also drooped. So I also had to stuff some scenery under the feet. Worked well and looked cool :)

Quite possibly some of my favourite sci fi troopers (that I don't even own!). You've done a great job on these guys! I must get me some

My 6 man strike team is all retouched and re-based now. I'll take pics of them when I next set up the camera properly but for now here's the sniper that I've just finished basing.

An 11 year old paint job here but I repainted the rifle and retouched a few minor things. He's little muddier than planned but I had to cover quite a scratchy old mud job (not a phrase to type into a search engine!). When I get the oval bases I've ordered I'll have a stab at tootling up the saurian rider. I'd like to add some support weapons to the team. I've got a MG team and mortar team prepped from back in the day but I have assembled some shock marines and an interdict recently just because they're cool. No idea if or when on any of that though.

Very nice!
I wished my rifles would look as good as yours. And that camouflage pattern looks excellent.

More coming?

I did start a machine gunner yesterday so that could be done within the week or by the end of the year.  lol  I'd really like to get more done though.

Had some nice big GW oval bases turn up today. Perfect for rebasing the big fella.
