[KICKSTARTER] Post apocalyptic scenery for 3D printers
« on: April 29, 2016, 07:59:40 PM »

Hi everyone!

We are two 3D designers working from Barcelona and this is our first attempt at producing scenery. We have opened a Kickstarter campaign to design post apocalyptic scenery for 3D printing!

At Thunder Chrome we want to offer you the chance to fill up your tables with amazingly detailed post apocalyptic scenery at a ridiculously cheap price. We want you to say goodbye to balsa wood and glue. Say hello to 3D printing, say hello to Thunder Chrome. Here is the link to the campaign:

https://www.kickstarter.com/project...er-chrome-3d-printable-post-apocalyptic-scene

If you have a 3D printer and you are into post apocalyptic wargames this is your chance to fill up your table with modular buildings that can be printed over and over again. Our models are designed to work for 28-32mm scale but they can be scaled up and down at will. We have three pledge levels (20-40-60 euros) and in each of them you get several models to combine and stack.

Kind regards,

Matías

lol Also a note that a cool fortified roof expansion was funded a couple of days ago, very cool and suitable for mad max adventures in the wastelands.

Do you have a comparison pic for that compressor from the machinery add-on?
Rather curious about the size.

@Zizi666 here you have a quick bad quality print, just for the scale. On the left 32mm, on the right 28mm. The compressor is quite big!

Keen regards,

Matías

I see it again on your newest picture. To be honest, the 3D Designpart you guys have done is really exeptional and I bed my pants that this stuff would sell really well if it would printed strokesfree and casted in Resin. The Print itself is the most weak point in this whole project here I guess. I presume you guys have printed the whole stuff on that prusa 2 printer. My look on the presented prints shows me that your printer has a vibration (so called ringing) problem. You guys print to fast and you should tweak your acceleration and decelleration values. The printer itself is susceptible to vibration through its overall design. Then the material feeding is to low and or the temperature to low. Thats the reason for the stroky surface on the streetmodule.

Maybe bite in the sour apple and let the files printed by a printingservice once. people buy from pictures, not their pure imagination. You guys have a jewel there polish it a bit and it will shine be sure!

Cheers DELTA

Delta thanks A LOT for the feedback. Our idea is to sell the files, no the physical models right now. And thinking that most of the potential customers will have a Prusa or similar printer, we want to show the results as similar as to what they will get. It is true that there are many hints to improve the quality of the printings, speed, temp, even some post printing processes, like acetone baths and sanding.

And your dream of seeing our range cast in resin and stroke free is coming for real. In the following months we'll convert most of our designs into resin with a proper resin printer, cast the molds and begin the resin production. But that is for 2017.

Thanks again for the support!

Check. That's interesting since I like some of your designs but I don't like to print them myself. Good luck with both the KS and your future plans  :).

Hi there! One more of our models. In this case it is part of our modular system. We have eight different modules to combine with different floors and roofs. And some supports to make them multi level. Here you can see one of the modules painted on top of the support and below the possibilitie to make a huge shanty town. Enjoy!

Hi there! After some months of hard work and modelling we have finally managed to open our webstore. All the models we have been showing here are available for you to download and print at home. Here's the link: www.thunder-chrome.com

If you have no access to a 3D printer we can provide you with our models already printed at very affordable prices. Send us an email with your order to info@thunder-chrome.com and we will answer you ASAP with the final price and the shipping time (we are based in Spain, so shipping costs to Europe are quite low).

Good gaming everyone!
