It also suffers from the fact that the US was backing the bad guys and when I say bad guys I mean really fucking bad guys. Roman Catholic prelate, American nun murdering bad guys.  Health clinic burning bad guys, rape the women, shoot every campesino in sight and burn down their village bad guys.

For clarity's sake I take it you are not still talking about Kansas right?  ;)

Alas not, if they had been shooting farmers in Kansas in the 1980s I probably would have joined 'em or at least raised a celebratory glass or six.  ;)

Don't think they have much in the way of free, state run, health clinics to torch anyway.

For future reference:

Kansas: Endless cornfields, tornadoes, Dorothy and that annoying, yappy, fucking dog.

Central America:  Tropical rainforests, earthquakes, mudslides and a merciful absence of Judy Garland and canine companions. :)

I know every good game needs a bad guy but who wants to market a range based on the apartheid state?  Frankly, I'm surprised that Rhodesians sell as well as they do.
Helicopters.  Allouettes and sticks of RLI swooping in make for a great spectacle.  I suspect it's more of a collector's range than a gamer's range?

I don't think apartheid would be a particular concern for the Border War (or no-one would play SS...) but unless and until someone ponies up for 28mm Ratels and Casspirs and the like, it's a hard sell in 28mm.

God, that sounds like all of my planned ranges!  ;D

Someone does make Ratels and Casspirs. Cheap as chips and very nice they are. What's more he's a fellow  LAFer:

Doesn't Copplestone do some neosoviets? They might be worth a look? I think he did some jungle fighter guys too in his future wars range? Maybe check out the TAG moderns too?

Edit: I've had a look at the Copplestone future wars stuff, and I reckon 'Civilian milita' could be promising...

Not that I don't mind a good thread derail, any suggestions for 1980s Cubanesque soldiers? Must be a range somewhere!

Hmmm they just don't seem to have the right feel to me - maybe too Americanish/modern?

Checking out TAG now - 'ultra modern' may be too modern, but man some of those bank robbers are great! May have to pick them up for another little project.

EDIT:
Ok I think these guys have real promise;

And these ones too (maybe square up the base ball caps a bit)

And even these Iraqis

A few more

And if do purchase from them, definitely getting these guys for some bank robbing scenarios.... I'm not a crook!

Glad that my suggestions helped you find something suitable :)

Sorry for not posting any links myself, I have consistently failed to work out how to post links when using my phone!
