You might want to tweek the hand to hand combat - one of the militia managed to get taken out by a civilian with a lucky dice roll right at the begining of the game, which put the Militia at a disadvantage (or is that just an excuse for my poor dice rolls  ).

That is a really nice looking board.  Is everything set in place or can you move any of the land mass about?  I'm guessing no because the quay and slope both descend into the same body of water.  I must study your pictures and others to get nice ideas.  I really like the small pieces like the canvas bales, jars and crates.  Thanks to looking at your photos I think I may have a way to make some good looking pieces for next to nothing but sparing no expense in the looks department; Thank you .

Not too sure, Baron Von J (the author of the rules) would be able to give you an update.

You can not go wrong with Foundry pirates.

They produced a really good set of figures, which just keep giving ...

Yeap, the land mass is all one piece. All the buildings and walls can be removed. The board also is used as for the pirate's Caribbean adventures. I have a second board waiting to be used as a harbour extension ... sometime.

I really like the small pieces like the canvas bales, jars and crates. 

Most of the bits and pieces are Ainsty Castings, the buildings are TSS and the walls are a mixture of Games Workshop and my own scratch built ones.

Glad this is still inspiring. Fistful of Lead is a really easy game to learn and works well for swashbuckling action. We will be playing some more adventures with the crews as they are starting to get some interesting character developments.

The expansion to Fistful of Lead: Horse and Musket (which Ramirez helped playtest) I'm calling Buccaneers & Cavaliers. It builds on FfoL:H&M by adding some more grit to the combat system and skills.
You’ll take on the role of a Captain, either leading a scurvy pirate crew, or troop of dashing soldiers of the Crown in search of adventure. Like all the Fistful of Lead games, you’ll only need 5 or 6 miniatures per player. You can play 1-on-1 games or larger skirmishes with up to 6 or 8 players.
You fill the ranks of your Troop with a Second, Regulars and Dregs.
Here’s sample Troop:
Captain Stinky Pete and the crew of the Saucy Mermaid:
Captain Pete (Captain)
First Mate Badbreath Billy Barnacle (Second)
Old Pete (Regular)
Pegleg Willy Splinter (Regular)
3 Nameless Shanghaied sailors (Dregs)
That gives our Troop 7 miniatures thanks to Dregs only taking up only one opening. Will numbers over quality prevail?
