Hi Folks

Just a quick message to let you know that myself and my good friend Andy MacTaggart will be putting on another demo/participation of Osprey's upcoming 'The Men Who Would Be Kings rules at Partizan show in Newark next Sunday (22nd May).

The game is called 'The Relief of Fort Passanda' and involves an Anglo-Indian column marching to relieve a signalling station besieged by ever-increasing hordes of Pathan tribesmen on the NW Frontier in 1897.

Expect the usual heroics, derring-do, 'Carry-On Up The Khyber'-esque humour and stiff upper lips a-plenty as we run the game throughout the day. There will be opportunities to join in on either side, either for a few minutes to get the feel of the game or to play throughout if you feel so inclined. Or you can just come along and chat to one of us about the rules as we're being joined by other club mates to help us to run it. We'll aim to run it two or three times through the day depending on how each game goes.

The game is being officially endorsed by Osprey who have sent us some lovely A3 copies of the book cover to display.

To whet your appetite, here are a few pics I took at my house in a recent play test game... The unpainted models in the pics will, of course, be finished by next Sunday  :D :D

Hope to see some of you there!!

It looks superb! I do like the Partizan show, but at the moment I have 3,000 miles between me and it, so I'll have to pass for another year. Good luck with the game.

I'll drop by for a chat again Andy. I look forward to seeing what you've been up to since the Hereward show.  :)

I didn't manage to get a seat in the game, but I have to say it looked even better at Partizan than it does in the photos.  Bravo!

Great to catch up with both Andys on Sunday, sorry I didn't get time for a game.
Got some pictures going up on my blog later this week

Thank you, chaps! We had a blast....so much fun, in fact, that I didn't take any pictures!! So if anybody has any photos from the game on Sunday PLEASE post them on this thread. Thank you!

Three games played on the day...Fort Passanda burned to the ground twice and heroically rescued once. Everyone who played seemed to really enjoy it, which is great. I hope we managed to persuade a few more folks to buy the rules when they are released.

The rules are very straightforward. You'll pick up the main mechanisms very quickly. :D
