Hi Stephen

On May 17 You said you would send out the remainder of my order the following day. On May 19 you said it had just left the office so you could get me a tracking number either that evening or on Monday. 4 days ago I sent you a reminder email. Could you please send me a tracking number.

Cheers
A not entirely Happy Matt

Yes, it looks like a problem with the way the currency conversion is showing. I'll contact the plugin makers and enquire why it is not displaying properly.

Must be something to do with the possible Brexit. Blame Boris and Farage.  :D

There are some nice models on that website, I especially like the Sheikh but this thread is definitely making me gun shy.

I have personally not any problems in getting what I order from them. But I do currently work in a retail store that does lots of mail orders. its easy to get swamped and to take a hit in the communication department if you don't have a guy dedicated to that.
Not saying you should call them out for not getting back to you. That is a problem then need to work on. But I am confident that soon they will get it sorted out.

Its not the communications dept I have a problem with, its the shipping department.

That's why I am badgering him for a tracking number. To see if the stuff has been sent.

Heading to work so can't reply for a bit.

True,  if that groups does it's job.  You shouldn't have to hit up the communication guys.  :D

I have received my order and got it reasonably quick after my order.

As you can read in my post earlier in this same topic something went wrong with the pricing on the website and conversion rate. I ended up paying more then I thought I was. I was a little disappointing that there wasn't a little note in my package or anything else to say they were sorry for the error on their behalf. Now I order a lot from Warlord games and when there is the slightest of error or misunderstanding they really go out of their way to correct it. they send you a free model, replace missing parts or add in a little hand written note with a kind and cheerful message. (I have a few already lol ). I don't even have to contact warlord myself, when I post something on facebook or another forum they will contact me to rectify the problem. now that's great customer service and they are well known for it and that's where Spectre has a lot to learn. I simply got the reply that there must be something wrong with the website and they will raise the issue with their webdesigner. Great that I could be of service to point this error out to them but that didn't help me much. Now it was only a small order so I didn't expect much more then a little note.

Shipping was quick and the packaging is superior, they are one of the few companies I know that sell their individual models in their own clampack with foam. Although I think I would rather pay less and get the mini's in a 2cents zip back with some bubble wrap like most other companies do.

The miniatures are one of the more expensive ones on the market. They are nice sculpted models and a really original design. Great, that's why I bought these models specifically.

On the leaflet enclosed in the clam pack they claim to be superior models and bla bla bla....
In short, I was a disappointed with the models. The model itself looks great and just like the do on the website. However... Some models have a gaping hole where they have been broken of the mold. You can see the mold lines and in the same place on different models they have a rough hole. But then my biggest gripe.... the guns!! they look really silly. In all the pictures posted on their site I never noticed this but they are really really small and thin. in fact they are so thin that even though they have been superior packed they are completely warped and bend. If I compare them to my empress and eureka models the spectre guns look as if they are holding toy guns. I will replace the guns when I can find some loose AK47's.

I'm really looking forward to their rules but I'm unsure if I will ever order any more models from them.

This is just written up quickly by me, A more in depth review will be posted on my blog soon including pictures and examples.

Hi guys,

I think a few clarifications are in order. Spectre is not a large company. like Warlord for example. There is only me doing the hands on work, with others on rules, Facebook management etc (I do the sculpting and painting the figures, emails, order packing, shipping and website management). We are looking to take on employees soon as demand is exceptional and I'm not getting time to make new figures!

In regards to the casting problems, this is very surprising as we use the best caster in the industry and we've never had a single complaint in thousands of orders about the casting. Could you supply some examples of the problems please as I am having a hard time picturing what you mean in regards to the 'gaping holes'.

A note on the guns. They are 100% exact scale for the miniatures. Modern firearms are small!
One of the principles that we founded Spectre on is realism and getting the guns correct was a big goal for us and something that customers have really appreciated. The majority of toy soldiers have massively out of scale guns, which we dont have a problem with - it's just not how we wanted to make ours!

In Steven's defense he did track down my order.

It had been held up waiting for NVGs. He is shipping it out priority mail.

I will update on arrival.

In regards to casting all of the Kickstarter minis I got from them were very well cast with minimal mould lines or flash. I will admit I would have liked it if the weapons had been just a touch larger but other than the AKs they all seem relatively sturdy. (My Africans AKs were very foldy but bent back into shape with little trouble.)

I have had a couple of orders both at times when there was high demand (around Salute). Both service and updates were excellent imo. I prefer them arriving in the clampacks the realistic looking weapons won't get damaged in transit that way.

Keep up the good work guys.

And they have arrived!
The minis look great still and arrived safely clam packed away.

Now the race is on between Prodos and Paladium on who will take longer to fulfill pledges. The scary thing is I am betting on Prodos finishing AvP before Palladium finishes the Robotech kickstarter.

Does anyone know what this figure is holding in his right hand? I'm guessing an underbarrel GL that has been detached but...

Handle from an espresso machine?

Something he had planned to give his wife for her birthday?

Sonic screwdriver?

Lock pick set?

Is there a prize?

The blurb says
"He holds a highly customised M79 grenade launcher known as a ‘Pirate Gun’ – a 40mm launcher that can be fired quickly and accurately enough at short – medium ranges for operations in urban terrain requiring more firepower to lob grenades into compounds and through windows."
It must highly customised -  I used to fix those things and it doesn't look like one.

Update just googled "M79 pirate gun" they are highly customised and don't look like they used to.

Stu, the not keeping up with developments ex armourer.

The so-called Pirate Gun is only used by one unit- DEVGRU or SEAL Team 6 as they are more commonly known. Very much based on similar sawn off designs carried by MACV/SOG recon teams in Vietnam. The SEAL version was originally intended to give operators carrying MP7s something they could use to engage more distant targets during compound raids in Afghanistan.

The cut down M79 is not only used by ST6, we've got photos of other Tier 1 units and 'Regular' SEALs using them.. as well as contractors.  It came into the limelight with the publication of 'No easy day' where the author mentioned and later published photos of his loadout being a HK416, MP7 and M79 during Neptune spear and by other operators on earlier missions.
It's probably not all too common any more, but we felt it was worth including for the DEVGRU set.
