Its all smoke and mirrors the actual 3d work is rather shoddy, I managed to get my geometry confused to the point where rendering crashed my video card.

This is why I resist digital modelling so far, because I'm not entirely sure what that means, and it terrifies me.

I hate it when you get those little imperfections in the model. Some are almost impossible to spot but they will screw a print every time.

With rhino 3d is mostly when you start doing really complex boolean stuff with deformed curved surfaces with linked offsets and stupid stuff like that.

This is why I resist digital modelling so far, because I'm not entirely sure what that means, and it terrifies me.

I'll freely admit I'm not sure what it means by "Closed nonmanifold polysurface" either.

Could you share how long a print run that was?

4 hours 20 minutes. But as always that depends mostly on the highest points, I could print four in less then double that.

I am sure this was asked already, but can you tell me what printer you are using?

Brilliant work!

Like others I have the 1/72 model.  It's going to be slightly rescaled for my Squats someday...

I'm using a form 1+.

Don't be so hasty, not shown here are the 28 points where the tank was supported upside down from the print bed, which had to be carefully snapped, cut and sawed of after which they needed precision fitting to get the parts all together. Oh and a decent blob of super glue. 3d printers area epic tool, but far from a golden hammer yet!

Got in some more inspirational reading, since it seems like I'm mostly going for howl's moving castle anyway. I remember borrowing it of a friend more then 10 years ago, I recall at some point it the stories split off quite a bit but who knows I might find some interesting background information to interoperate. Or at least a description of a better flag then the pale yellow and pink we have in the movie. I might end up giving each unit its own flag for easy identification.

(that picture could have been smaller, oops)

I've also started on a walled farm, I've made a Pinterest board with inspiration sources if anybody is interested, you can find it here.

And finally I have collected all the materials I need to produce my rivers on large scale, so a step by step should follow soon.

Very true, I haven't even looked at it myself, just browsed the web for dutch and belgian walled farms, "hoeve" and send them there.

On the rules side of things I realized that Alien squad leader has a few army lists that might fit my intended forces. On the other hand I might just go with the current version of Web Epic and use imperial guard and tyranid rules. Not sure how well that plays on a smaller table though, I think GW games always aim for 4x6.

Talking about forces I have some samples on the way from Eureka (Thanks Nic!), who turn out to stock and cast the irregular stuff themselves.
