Maybe a cross between this and the Goliath from Laputa?

It's interesting, I always envisioned the goliath as a big bulky thing, but looking at images its not that fat. Even has a bit of a slender midpart.

Maybe I should shelve the largest ship for now and try for something smaller, I really like the "fingers" on this smaller ship.

Looking at Goliath I maybe should start generating a bunch of bean like shapes and keep smashing them together until it looks good.  ::)

I've been trying a bit on an airship...

I do have to mention the flyers in the John Carter of Mars movie, if you go with sparkly wings.

Wow.  Just, Wow!

I love those tanks and I like what you've got for the flyer so far as well.

I'm not sure if you have decided on infantry yet, but I'd say Baccus has some great stuff.  For alien beasties, I'd suggest www.onslaughtmini.com/.  Their Legion line are very similar to the tyranid designs.  They don't have much in the way of big beasts, but it should fit the bill for infantry.

Thanks for sharing.  This is all very cool and I look forward to seeing more.

Tied that, not a bad first look. Right now its very much goliath with flappy wings, but I'll tweak that more later on. I fear your right though that that bridge needs to be a lot smaller in order to look good.  >:(

I've considered the onslaught stuff, but tbh most tyranid designs don't have enough legs to my taste.  ;D

More progress. Nicknamed it old bloaty. I think the curves will work out well when printed. The windows should look better when printed, going by how they ended up looking on the tank in the end. The tail is still a place holder, copied directly from the Goliath design. I might do some engines in the back, since I've found an interesting technique for building blurred props. (not printed though!)

Yes, that looks much better  8)

How about for the rear fins have the vertical ones in the middle and another set of the horizontal on top?

Trying something completely different for the back end. More like howl and the original source material. (Actual VSF)

I've also added bit of a gondola with doors and some sort of rails at the back end. I might re-do it with the entire back end functioning as doors like those large transport aircraft rather  then the current folding doors.

EDIT: The girl made me re-do the renders as the compositions were bugging her.  lol

Personally, I prefer the Laputa style fins, but that's just me  :)

I like the gondola  8)

I liked them but they would be a challenge to print. (and cast if anybody is up to the challenge) I do think some horizontal elements on the back are in order, maybe a pair or parallel wings clamping engine pods or something. More drawing board time.

Have to admit, what he said...

"EDIT: The girl made me re-do the renders as the compositions were bugging her. "
"Personally, I prefer the Laputa style fins, but that's just me "
"...but they would be a challenge to print. (and cast if anybody is up to the challenge)..."

Normally, the challenge can be lessened in casting by making it multi-part. Have you tried this with printed objects? Oh, and what was 'bugging her?'
