Bendy Boba Fett
« on: July 11, 2016, 07:51:20 PM »
Just a one off model here. A bandy plastic Wizards of the Coast Boba Fett. When I first saw the pre-paint I thought it was going to be rather poor model but with a black undercoat it looked a hell of a lot better. I ended up really enjoying painting it. Plenty of chipping to give the armour that nice battered look. I usually go with metallics (just silver) for that kind of wear but this time went with white and I think it's worked out alright.

Holy shit that's good  :o

There are a lot of WotC figures that aren't bad sculpts but there are some real stinkers out there  lol

I'd have never guessed that was a bendy. Beautiful job. It makes me wish my painting wasn't so shit!  lol

Lovely "rescue"!  :)

I agree that a lot of the bendy Clix models are (were?) great sculpts that are frequently let down by the poor material. For example, I know James Van Schaik sculpts a lot of figures for WizKids that end up in this plastic, and seeing his originals always makes me lament what gets lost in the process... However, he and others do nonetheless try to plan/allow for this in their work, and I suspect that it's these models that look best when re-painted.

Excellent work!

Like others have said, I never would have suspected it was a vinyl fig if you hadn't told us.  I like the carefully advancing pose too.  With his head cocked like that it makes you wonder what he might have just heard or seen.
