She looks nice but I would add some freehand on the dress and/or perhaps on the cuffs.

The green dragon on the back looks nice, you did it well.  I'd add more of that motif on the cuffs and some yellow or blue on the dress.  Just my two cents.

Cool entry! That is a brutal looking structure... nicely done.

What does the armband signify?

Just the sort of mini that helps making a gaming table come to life!  8)

I have a tendency to focus on actual combatants and pivotal character models, neglecting all the 'trimmings' (probably because I spread myself far too thin over fart too many settings/games  ::)  ), and often find myself pretty jealous of those of you who have the stamina/energy/patience to stay with a single setting/project over a long period, and really care about all the little details.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Is that not the 'emergency' yellow flag.
The signal for 'Run away!'?

You may be correct. To me it is just a bit of flair. Apparently it works since people are talking about it. :)

A great miniature in what appears to be a precarious position.

GWM with Woodbine head

I have been using Woodbine heads for my conversion of all sorts of brands. I am quite frankly getting a bit sick of them, they are quite dull and expressionless. Luckily Empress have released both separate Afghan and Wollsley heads quite recently, sculpted by the honorable Paul Hicks. That's the way I'll be going forward.

With me it is the other way around, I do all the fun stuff first (command, signals, heavy equipment, first aid...). I have about 50 pathan irregular cavalry on my desc waiting for completion. It is fun painting them for a while, if you do it the right way, but the horses is a hell of tedium.

As for patience. What is really the hurry, if you think about it? It's a hobby.

Amen. I am with you brother. I actually really enjoy painting horseflesh. But I loathe painting tack, manes, tails, socks etc... Tedious indeed.

Lovely work Peder. Patience is a requirement if you enjoy the hobby.
Best wishes,
Helen

As for patience. What is really the hurry, if you think about it? It's a hobby.

Not so much hurry, as that I get bored too easily, and suffer from extreme Butterfly Syndrome. It is also the reason why everything I paint these days has to be usable for several purposes - that way, something I painted for a project that stalled some time ago can be added to for a newfound craze, and suddenly I have finished minis for not only the current project, but often also for the previous one  lol

One of the good things about LAF is lots of ideas to use for how to repurpose and revitalize old batches of minis - and I enjoy painting much more after learning the layering technique by looking at and 'copying'  the way some of all the great minis posted here were painted, so I experience fewer periods with 'painting fatigue' (although painting a lot of minis to a deadline can sometimes derail me for some time).

Horses? Always puts me off a bit, but I plan to change my attitude, and start getting more cavalry on the table, as soon as I can afford getting a batch of steel cavalry bases manufactured by a laser-cutting firm (I have the file ready, just need to have some cash available - the project stalled due to the family land speeder having problems with the transmission, only took the Suzuki authorized garage about 4 month to get it fixed...). And, yes, I want steel bases, no plastic, no mdf - for several reasons.
