Scotia Grendel Dwarf Terrain
« on: July 18, 2016, 11:20:28 AM »
I stumbled upon some Scotia Grendel dwarven terrain pieces, but I am having a problem finding much detail or better images of the items. I figured I would check here for assistance. Does anyone own any of the following items:

http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=227_41&products_id=2675

http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=227_41&products_id=2686

If you have some of these, could you comment on them or maybe post some pictures of them? I am looking to use them for possibly games of Frostgrave or LOTR Strategy Battle Game. But I am leary of purchasing them without additional details or images. Any response is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have most of them - I can post pics later.

They are smallish - made before "heroic" size figs. That matters for some more than others. All the ones I have bought have been well made with few bubbles / flash / missing bits. They are robust and paint up well (certainly by my standards).

That should work for dwarves then?  :D

Never thought about that before, but Dwarf (and Halfling/Gnome/Goblin/Pixie) buildings really ought to be inconveniently cramped for humans, elves, orcs, and similar "big folk" shouldn't they?  Funny how you don't see that a lot in fantasy resins.  Too limiting for sales, probably.

It all depends on how cosmopolitan your setting is. But yea, I generic human sized building would probably sell better then something intentionally small.

Thank you so much for the pictures. I am glad I posted on here. While the pieces look great, they are too small for my needs. I can't have a two story merchant house being taller than my towers. LOL I will have to look for some other source of dwarven terrain.  :'( Anyone know of some good alternatives? I currently have a Pegasus Hobbies Wizard Tower, two Pegasus Hobbies Gothic Ruins sets, three Conflix buildings, and three Tabletop Workshop buildings. And I am eagerly awaiting the LOTR Ruins of Osgiliath to come back in stock here in the U.S.

The Ziterdes range has some very nice pieces in it and some Dwarf buildings too.

I have seen a bit of their stuff. I have mainly been looking at the Laketown series of items. But I am unfamiliar with how sturdy hardfoam is. Does it hold up?

GW made a few pieces out of hard foam. The Graveyard,Ruined Tower,Orc village and a Dwarf piece. They are nice and light which can be a bonus for storing. It is pretty sturdy and will last a long time if not abused.Ziterdes do some really nice pieces.I have a few but want more ;).

Fenris Games do a couple of specifically Dwarven bits of scenery.

Dwarven Watchtower

Dwarf Fortress

They also do rune stones and Dwarven columns

Manic Miner, I like the Ziterdes site.  A lot of great terrain pieces that would fit with Frostgrave, Lord of the Rings and a lot of other fantasy settings.
Their products for water sound interesting.  Anyone tried these?
