Modular Wargame Tables at Aldi Belgium
« on: 09 August 2016, 08:16:02 PM »
Just seen these three modular table sets for €49.99, will grab two sets myself should be sufficient for my wargame needs! Seen in the Aldi Belgium folder so not sure if these will be available in other countries. They look good enough for creating wargame lay outs and easy to store so double win! What do you think of these?

They look good, and 2 sets of 2 should be enough. Looks like a good find.

Looks pretty good...the only issue with these is stability.  Some of them end up wobbling way too much unless you're placing a heavy board tile on top of them.  Price is right and the size looks good for creating a whole bunch of different size tables as needed.

They are sold in sets of three so even more tables and just the right size for my hobby room. Must paint more miniatures to fill these tables.  lol

Read that you can link them up, that should increase the stability me thinks? Will also remain stationnary most of the time so hope they will stay rigid longer that way. And as you mention, good price and modular approach for different set ups. Looking forward in cleaning up the hobby room and installing these during the holidays.

If you have multiple tables and they feel a bit wobbly, a couple of clamps will link them together and give you a very stable surface.

Also I see they have the handles which pop out when folded...those things are life-savers.  I have two large nice folding tables which clip together when shut and have heavy fabric handles.  Bonus?  They fit perfectly in the back of my Golf.  So if I need to bring a 6'x5' table somewhere I can.  The fabric handles though make all of the difference in handling the tables easily when folded.

Not much different from the wallpaper pasting tables (the new aluminium/mdf types, not the old wooden) you get in the hardware stores. Even the price is the same.

"Uh, I better look in the manual... This book must be out of date. I don't see "Prussia", "Siam" or "autogyro"...

Bought three sets, well two and received one from my parents. Should be sufficient but will they all fit the hobby room? Could always take the larger room next door! O no ...

With nine of the things I'd also be tempted to try weird table shapes (I've always liked 'T' shape boards or 'L' shape boards for large weird scenarios).
