I've got my last Undead sat on the side ready to have the bases finished .........but I couldn't resist starting my Chaos Dwarf Army!

The minis are from "Russian Alternative" and Mantic Games Abyssal Dwarf ranges. I have enough to make a 32pt army with enough spare to swap in units depending upon the enemy.
First up is my Warlord (Russian Alternative) sitting on a custom made base. I pretty much stuck to "classic" CD colour scheme with lots of red and gold.

Thanks, I'm pretty pleased with him.
For the army list I just went through the rules and tried to create some balanced units. Here's a quick pic of one of my army lists. the image is a bit poor as it was exported from MS Front Page.

The Warlord is a reduced unit "Heavy Foot" because, although he doesn't have the same hitting power as elite foot, his 12 strength points and armour 3 make him quite hard to take down.

Thanks - that's interesting, and very tempting - I probably have enough old CDs lying in wait in the cellar to make up a similar army (barring the bull centaurs anyway). Thanks for posting this.

If you're short of bull centaurs the Half-breeds from Mantic Games are pretty good and a fraction of the price of the old GW ones.

That Chaos Dwarf looks like an extremely solid start

Have you played much Dragon Rampant yet PM?

I have had a lot of fun with it in the six or seven games that I have been involved in to date.

I'm exactly the same. NO MORE MINIS UNTIL I'VE PAINTED WHAT I'VE GOT.............. although I could do with a War Mammoth and some seige engines.....

Not Dragon Rampant. I tend to lack opponents and so I'm looking to paint up a couple of armies in order that I can cajole family members into giving it a bash. I've pretty much completed my Undead so these were next on my list.

Just completed my Chaos Dwarf Slave Master. He will be in charge of a unit of slave orcs ( Bellicose Foot with Terrifically Shiny Armour + Fearful).
He is a converted Russian Alternative mini with a GW head and a whip mounted on a custom base.

I thought it would be a nice change from all those enormous hats. The only other hatless dwarf will be in amongst my harquebusiers.

Just completed a unit of 6 Immortals with great weapons. They are all Russian Alternative with "Foundations of War" resin bases. They will be fielded as a unit of "elite foot".

I have experimented with some "crackle" paint on the movement tray ( Ranger distressed crackle paint) and I am quite pleased with the results.

Some half breeds to follow soon.
