Thanks lads!  :)
Currently it's really hard for me to decide if I wanna go for painting warriors first so I could finish a playable warband much faster or if I should focus more on character miniatures like civilians or chiefs. I think finding a right balance is the way to go, don't you think so too?

QUESTION:
Does anybody know if Foundry sells blisters with african shields? The only pack that seems available is the Masai one.

Cheers,
Daniel

Paint a unit and then treat yourself with a character? It usually works for me..  :)

I remember seeing blisters of different shields on the Foundry stand at Hereward, I'm sure if you drop them an e-mail and ask they'll be able to sort something out. I recently purchased the Azande musketmen pack which isn't on their site at all.

Quick update:

I started my first terrain piece for my CONGO gaming board: an acacia tree for the typical savannah look.
That was my very first try to make trees out of wire. Went well so far, can't wait to continue with it and to star the others  :)

Cheers,
Daniel

It looks great - I'm going to need a few acacia trees. I might have to see how you go about the rest of this and copy you!

Sorry that its been a bit quite in this thread the last weeks.
In the meantime I received the Northstar Congo Ngnoni box and painted already the first miniature for a colour scheme test (I gonna add the spear later on).
I tried to achieve a mixed look based on various inspirations: the face paint is Masai, the feather hat is Ngoni and the shields are Azande. Further I painted some scar tattoos on chest, belly and legs.

So what do you think about the colour scheme. Any suggestions and ideas?

CHeers,
Daniel

That looks really good. Are the torso scars put on with a toothpick or something similar?

That looks amazing!  :o I love the shield design, seeing as I have a load of similar shields to do for my Azande, it's inspirational.  :D
